Help
Every page of this site, this one included, carries links to five independent gambling-help organisations. You can find them in the links shown on this page.
- BeGambleAware
- Gamble Aware
- Gambling Therapy
- G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
- NCPG
Links
These are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial.
- Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking.
- They are set to nofollow.
- They open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites.
- This site receives nothing when you follow them.
Limits
The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this site, including on the front page. Beyond that, this site can do very little for a reader who wants to stop.
- Deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion belong to an operator account. You arrange them inside your account at the destination.
- This site has no account, no form and no server-side application. Nothing published here can switch such a control on, check it or enforce it.
- Nobody's age is verified here, and no gambling takes place on this site. Any age check happens at the destination.
- No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs in these pages. Nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour.
Habits
These habits work because each one removes a decision you would otherwise have to make while you are already playing.
- Set the amount before you start. A limit chosen in advance is made with a clear head, not mid-session.
- Treat that money as spent. If you expect nothing back, a loss will not feel like a debt you need to recover.
- Never chase a loss. Raising your stakes to win back money tends to make the loss bigger and faster.
- Keep borrowed money out of it. Credit turns a fixed cost into repayments that last after the session ends.
- Take breaks. Stepping away interrupts the momentum that makes time and spending blur together.
Support
Involve someone else early, as soon as gambling stops feeling like entertainment.
- Signs include hiding how much you play, feeling restless when you stop, or spending money meant for other things.
- A trusted person, or one of the organisations listed above, can help you see the pattern sooner than you would alone.
